This session will look at two very important aspects of the lives of pioneer women. health issues and their legal status.  Besides being prey to the health concerns of everyone, women also had to deal with those particular to their gender, particularly the perils of childbirth.  The Pioneer era was one of the few times in history when a woman's life expectancy was lower than that of men.  Additionally, women had few legal rights. Award-winning Historian and Author Tim Crumrin will detail the struggles of woman during this era.
