About the Event
Paul Shike is the author of Tell Me So I Know and founder of Tamara Publishing. Paul grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana and attended Indiana University from 1977 - 1981. Paul Shike’s book, “Tell Me So I Know” is a fun and interactive way to learn about the people that are special in your life. Many have used the book to engage with parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, children and other loved ones, to discover their favorites, life stories, beliefs and memories. Shike will be visiting the Vigo County History Center this Saturday, March 19th at 2:00pm to give a talk about collecting family stories and to sign copies of his book.
Following Paul Shike, Dea Guerri will present a program which includes further information and tips regarding the interview process. She will discuss some of the newer online sites pros and cons, as well as who owns copyright in interviews. Dea will stress the importance of the personal interview over third party interviews and how Paul’s book is one of the best beginning interview process methods. This event will begin a series of monthly Family History Research programs in addition to the Vigo County History Center (VCHC) historical presentations. VCHC is excited to offer programs in many genres of family history research and genealogy. Experienced genealogists, family historians, and researchers will present the programs. Program is included with cost of admission or free for members.
